Dutch public and school holidays

Public holidays do not automatically give every employee a day off: check your contract or collective labour agreement (CAO). Spring and autumn school breaks are advisory; check your school’s calendar, including any extended May break. Christmas holidays cross calendar years: early January can belong to the previous year’s break. Official school holiday schedules
